Barratt and David Wilson Homes – Watford HQ

Barratt and David Wilson Homes wanted something for their office staff to break up the working day — a race afternoon at their Watford HQ, with a track that carried both brands side by side. The ask was simple: give Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes equal billing and make the racing feel like it belonged to them, not a generic hire setup.

We built the Signature track in the meeting space at the Watford HQ, with a bespoke pit building carrying Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes signage across alternating garage bays, plus 'Mustang Raceway' branding on the trackside boards. Two custom liveries were built for the occasion: a matte black Barratt Homes F1 car with lime detailing, and a navy David Wilson Homes car carrying the Where Quality Lives tagline — one for each brand, on the same circuit. Live timing ran to the wall-mounted screen so every lap was up for everyone to see.

Three hours, 2pm to 5pm, open to the whole office. 23 of the 30 staff had a go — a strong uptake from a team with a full day's work still on the desk. Free practice ran first, with colleagues drifting back between meetings to chase their own best lap while the two brand cars went head to head in the pits. The timing screen did the rest: once a name was near the top, the queue built itself.
