Silveray wanted an interactive team activity to mark the opening of their new R&D offices at Pear Mill, Stockport — something competitive that would bring colleagues together and showcase the Silveray brand across their business sectors.
The full digital Scalextric setup was transformed into a Silveray-branded circuit, incorporating their light blue, navy and yellow branding throughout the track. Custom pit-lane graphics, branded grandstands and individual Silveray business sector messaging — including Oil & Gas, Nuclear & Energy and Aerospace — were built into the layout. The track ran from 1.30pm–5.30pm with up to 6 cars racing together and a live leaderboard displaying fastest laps in real time.
The format centred around a fastest-lap competition, with drivers able to have multiple attempts throughout the afternoon and their times displayed on the live leaderboard. With two racers going head-to-head at a time, it gave the event a competitive element while still allowing people to jump in and have a go throughout the session. The uptake was brilliant — 76 of the 110 attendees picked up a controller and set a time, with 919 laps completed across the afternoon.

Fastest Laps
David C took the fastest lap with a 6.230s, ahead of Xueling (6.560s) and Lee A (6.600s). The branding made the circuit feel like Silveray's own track, while the racing gave the team something genuinely interactive to compete over — another good example of why Scalextric works well for corporate events: easy to understand, quick to have a go, but competitive enough that people keep coming back trying to beat each other's times.
